Ruby is an open-source programming language created in 1995 by Yukihiro « Matz » Matsumoto. It is interpreted, object-oriented and multi-paradigm. The language was standardised in Japan in 2011 and by the International Organisation for Standardisation in 2012. Its main framework is Rails (hence Ruby On Rails). Ruby is known for being easy to learn.
